All Star Selection

Livermore Little League participates in postseason summer baseball as a member of District 57. Summer baseball includes: Tournament of Champions for AA, AAA, and Majors divisions, district All Star tournaments at the 10u, 11u, and 12u level, and local District 57 Summer Tournaments hosted by the leagues in District 57. As a league, we try to provide as many opportunities as possible for our players to play into the summer for as long as possible. For the Summer Tournament season, Livermore Little League participates with teams at the following levels:

  • 12u District All Star Team

  • 12u Summer Tournament Team

  • 11u District All Star Team

  • 11u Summer Tournament team

  • 10U District All Star Team

  • 10u Summer Tournament Team

  • 9u Summer Tournament Team(s)

  • 8u Summer Tournament Team

It is an honor and a privilege to represent Livermore Little League for these postseason events. As such, we strive to fill the rosters with players who exemplify the spirit of Little League, excelling on the field with their play, and in the dugout as leaders and teammates. In order to ensure that our processes accomplish this goal, our All Star selection process incorporates input from players and coaches. Please see the information below on how we select these players.

12U, 11U, 10U District All Stars:

Each manager, with the approval of the all star committee, selects up to twelve players at each age group they manage who they think are deserving of being on the District All Star teams. It goes as follows: Majors managers select 12u and 11u, AAA managers select 11u, 10u.  Additionally, each player receives a ballot with players in their age group. Players select up to seven players in their age group they feel should represent our league. These votes are tallied and the top three vote getters are strongly considered for our district All Star Teams. Positional needs may come into play to construct the rosters and may impact the selection process. After all votes are tallied, managers, along with members of the All Star committee, will then get together to discuss the final roster for the district teams.

The top 12 vote getters, by manager choice, along with the three top vote getters by player vote are then submitted to the LLL All Star Committee for consideration.

Summer Tournament Teams:

12u, 11u, 10u:

After selection of the District All Star teams, managers then choose from the remaining players available to complete the summer team roster. The same criteria apply to the summer team selections as the District All Star teams. Players are chosen based on merit, along with positive attitude and leadership on the field. Once completed, the roster is submitted to the All Star Committee for approval.

9u:

The 9u level also has multiple teams at differing levels. The 9A team is like the District All Star teams, as it participates at higher levels throughout the summer tournaments. The only difference is that there are not separate district tournaments at the 9 year old level. All 9u summer teams participate in the same tournaments throughout the summer, just in two separate brackets. The selection process for the 9A and 9B tournament teams is the same as stated above for the district All Star Teams and Summer Tournament teams.

8u:

The 8u selects one team to participate in our District 57 summer 9b tournaments. There are no 8u specific tournaments or brackets. The 8u team plays in our Livermore Top Nine tournament and may play in others throughout the season as allowed by the tournament directors for each tournament. The 8u team is selected the same way our District All Star and 9A teams are selected.

All Star Managers:

Managers for each team are chosen only after the rosters for the teams have been set. Each manager who is interested in managing a summer team must submit an application expressing their interest and justification for why they would like to be selected as a manager for the summer. Managers should have a proven track record of providing a positive experience for all players, that includes  Managers are considered and selected by the All Star Committee and approved by the League President.
